    Lynn University’s men’s tennis team has been honored as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team for the 2016-17 season while nine Fighting Knights were selected as ITA Scholar-Athletes.

    Lynn University Athletic Director Devin Crosby has invited six NCAA Division I schools to take on the Division II Fighting Knights during the 2017–18 season. Dubbed the South Florida Showdown, the nine-game series will be hosted by Lynn beginning in August.

    Three star tennis student-athletes from Lynn University have been selected to the 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America® Division II At-Large Teams, as announced on Wednesday. Jean-Baptiste Mateo and Rosalie Willig were chosen to the second team while Grace Mpassy picks up third-team honors.
  • Men’s Tennis Jumps up to No. 6; Produces Three ITA All-Americans

    Mehdi Laalej, Jean-Baptiste Mateo and Florian Clemares of Lynn University’s men’s tennis team have been selected as 2017 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Americans, as announced with the final national rankings of the season this week. Laalej garners All-America honors in both singles and doubles, while Mateo bolsters the accolade in singles with Clemares joining Laalej in doubles.
  • Jean-Baptiste Mateo Named CoSIDA Academic All-District

    Lynn University men’s tennis player Jean-Baptiste Mateo was named a CoSIDA Academic All-District Men’s At-Large selection, as announced on Thursday. Mateo becomes the first men’s tennis player to collect CoSIDA academic honors since 2015. He is now eligible for Academic All-America recognition.
  • Lynn University Fighting Knights raises over $100,000 at 25th Annual Robino Golf Tournament

    Lynn University received a record number of donations and pledges at the 25th anniversary of its Robino Golf Tournament on April 24. The Fighting Knights’ largest fundraiser of the year raised $101,895 for athletic scholarships.
  • No. 1 West Florida Ends Men’s Tennis Season in NCAA South Regional Final

    Lynn University’s ninth-ranked men’s tennis team saw its 2017 campaign come to a close on Sunday in the NCAA Division II South Region I Championship match. The fourth-seeded Fighting Knights dropped a 5-3 contest to the No. 1 ranked team in the nation, University of West Florida, preventing Lynn from a trip back to the national championships.

    Lynn University’s men’s tennis team saw three All-Sunshine State Conference selections on Friday as the 2017 awards were announced by the league office. Mehdi Laalej and Jean-Baptiste Mateo were All-SSC First Team picks for singles while Laalej and Florian Clemares secured a spot on the All-SSC Doubles Second Team.
  • Men’s Tennis Advances to NCAA South Regional Final with 5-2 Victory over No. 6 Saint Leo

    For the third time in the past 15 days, Lynn University’s men’s tennis team went to battle against conference rival Saint Leo University. On Saturday in the NCAA South Region I Semifinals, the fourth-seeded and nationally ninth-ranked Fighting Knights took down the fifth-seeded and sixth-ranked Lions, 5-2, earning a spot in tomorrow’s final against West Florida.

    Lynn University's eighth-ranked men's tennis team was selected as the fourth seed in the South Region on Tuesday evening and will head to the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fla. for the preliminary rounds of the NCAA Division II Championship this weekend. The Blue & White return to the NCAA Tournament for the 15th consecutive season.

The eighth-ranked and third-seeded Fighting Knights are runners-up at the tournament for the sixth consecutive year following a 5-1 setback to second-ranked and top-seeded Barry University on Saturday morning.
  • Mateo Sets Singles Milestone, Clinches Comeback for Men’s Tennis

    Down 4-2 in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament men’s tennis semifinals to the third-ranked team in the nation, eighth-ranked and third-seeded Lynn University showed tremendous perseverance on Friday in an exciting 5-4 comeback victory over second-seeded Saint Leo. Jean-Baptiste Mateo clinched the match in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 2 singles, improving to 23-0 on the year in solo play. Mateo’s 23 singles wins this season is the most-ever by a Fighting Knight since Lynn joined the NCAA in 1997.

    Lynn University’s eighth-ranked men’s tennis squad won the first eight matches of the day on Thursday afternoon before 48th-ranked Florida Tech squeezed out its lone point in a three-setter at No. 6 singles. The Fighting Knights secured an 8-1 Sunshine State Conference victory over the Panthers for the team’s 14th consecutive triumph.

    After falling behind 2-1 at the conclusion of doubles action, the eighth-ranked Lynn University men’s tennis team won all six singles contests in straight sets to come back and down Eckerd College 7-2 on Friday in a Sunshine State Conference bout.
