Men’s Soccer Tops Florida Memorial

Miami Gardens, Fla. - Lynn University's men's soccer team defeated Florida Memorial 1-0 on Monday night.  Tomer Bitton tallied his second goal in as many games to help the Fighting Knights improve to 3-2-0 overall.

  • Bitton scored his second goal of the season just one minute into play as he buried a cross from Will Coutts past FMU keeper Kasey Laventure.
  • Lynn outshot Florida Memorial 16-7 and held a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • Laventure stopped four shots while freshman keeper Julian Carrillio made three saves on the night.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:

  • Carrillo made the first appearance of his career.  It marks the second time this year a goalkeeper began their Blue and White career with a shutout (Roberto Bazzichetto shutout Christian Brothers in the season opener.
  • Will Coutts has two assists in three matches played this season.
